FEES: AED 20 Rag dolls have been around for ages, so long in fact that the British Museum has a collection of Roman rag dolls dating back all the way to the 1st to the 5th century. For millennia these simple toys, traditionally made at home using spare scraps of material and stuffed with bits of fabric, have been bringing joy to children and now Maraya is giving the young lot the chance to create their very own dolls. This fun-filled workshop will introduce children aged 6 to 11 to a whole range of rag dolls and show them how to create a raggedy friend of their own, complete with soft cloth body and a patchwork outfit, to take home. All materials will be provided in class – all they have to bring is their creativity and their boundless imaginations. To register your child, please contact Maraya Art Centre on +971 6 556 6555 or by email at rsvp@maraya.ae.
